This BD Vacutainer SST II Advance tube is used to obtain and separate serum samples. This tube can be identified by a gold cap. The tube cap closures for BD Vacutainers are colour-coded according to the additive and the international standard (ISO 6710). BD Vacutainer SST II Advance tubes contain Silica(Clot Activator)/Gel.

Recommendations:

When mixing, BD Vacutainer SST II Advance tubes should be gently inverted 180° and back 5-6 times.
Centrifuge settings should be at 1300g - 2000g for 10 minutes at 25° room temperature.
The minimum recommended clotting time for BD Vacutainer SST II Advance tubes for patients without anticoagulant is 30 minutes.
